The Success of Drug Decriminalization in Portugal

The “War on Drugs” has been one of the most spectacular policy failures of modern times. Spanning decades, wasting billion$ of dollar$, and probably used as an excuse to deprive citizens of their privacy and individual freedom more than any other single issue, the “War on Drugs” has been a colossal boondoggle.

Yes drugs are bad. Yes people waste their lives getting high rather than focusing their energy on living their life to the fullest. Yes we should strive to live lives physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually so that we don’t feel the need to use artificial stimulants. But the “War on Drugs” is not really addressing any of these issues successfully, and the negative repercussions of this idiocy far outweighs the positives…if indeed there are any positives.
