College Student Puts the Scale of the Federal Budget Into Perspective

For all the talk of the economy, and the millions and billions and trillions of dollars in the US budget, it is hard to get a conceptual grasp of what the scale of the expenditures are.

A college student does a really good job of putting it in perspective, and does it in a minute and 38 seconds.

I pulled out my calculator and checked the student’s premise and it looks right to me.  The 2010 Federal Budget was $3.55 Trillion, (check it on WikiPedia HERE ) and if you take $90 worth of pennies, and let 5 pennies represent $2 Billion…it all works out to scale.
